These two Great Horned Owls kept us awake earlier in the spring with their hooting back and forth in the wee hours of the morning. Now that they’ve settled down to raise a family, they are much quieter. I imagine they are busy hunting, probably just one at a time these days. I think the eggs have hatched and the mom stays on or near the nest all the time while the dad stands guard in a nearby tree during the day. It will be fun to watch the little ones grow up!

  1. Great camo pictures.

  2. How cool is that? I watch a lot of the live webcams…eagles, falcons, owls, hawks, osprey….love the way we can now look without disturbing. But this is even better. Can you see the nest from your house with a scope? Mine would be set up at all times! Never get anything done…sigh.

    • No, I have to walk maybe 3/4 of a mile to get to it. There used to be a Red Tail nest we could see from our house and yes, the scope was on it for weeks at a time! Unfortunately it blew down in a wind storm.
