Scenes from the Salish Sea

We enjoyed our annual trip to the Salish Sea, spending time with family and friends, on the water and on the beach. We caught and ate lots of crab. We saw animals we don’t see at home including incredible jellyfish, otters, seals and herons. Willow dug big holes in the sand and swam in the sea. Sky enjoyed the fresh air and saltwater. It was a relaxing trip.

More Fun at Lopez Island

Five of us and our dogs had another nice outing on Lopez Island. The weather was perfect for strolling along the bluff and clambering on rocks to watch the sea life. We like to watch the seals like visitors to our valley like to watch the deer.

The tide was moving fast and there were various currents making these interesting whirlpools

The gulls are watching a seal eat a salmon in hopes of getting a few bites.
