Here in the Methow Valley, we are lucky to have an extensive network of groomed cross country ski trails for both classic and skate skiing. Some are even open to dogs and new this year in a pilot program there will be ‘fat bikes’ on the trails. The 200k of trails cross public and private lands in a program run by MVSTA – Methow Valley Sports Trails Association. It’s one of the reasons I wanted to live here. I love skiing!

Watch out for big snow dumps from the trees!

Ahhhhh.
Come on you two, let’s go.

It doesn’t get much better than this.

Really? I can have this perfect trail to myself?

Teri, I just returned from our latest 5 day ski trip in Mazama. I am an avid birder but didn’t spend much time doing that. Is there somewhere I can get a tally of your recent CBC? Next year I could plan to help with the CBC if I can organize my dates to be there and it does not conflict with the Bellingham CBC.
I loved your photos, and I will use them to show friends where we were. I just became a subscriber, and maybe they will also!

Thanks Nancy
I don’t have the tally yet but when I do, I will forward it to you. The highlight was White-winged Crossbills in Twisp. Also reportedly, there were two Red-breasted Sapsuckers. I look forward to seeing you here in the Methow!
