With good weather finally happening, the garden is really coming to life with new growth and flowers everywhere. Evening light, just before sunset gives all the foliage and blooms a glow you don’t see during the day and I find it irrisistable. One day this week the constant breeze or gusty winds finally quit and I was able to photograph the sights around my house.

This seems like a lot of images for a blog post. There were many more they didn’t make the cut!

Sometimes it is easier just to slip the phone in my pocket when I go for a walk and let it do the work of photography for me.

So maybe not everyone thinks of Balsamroot as a wedding flower but in this case, it is. Months ago, Ken and I picked our date to hopefully coincide with the best of Balsamroot flowering and it’s looking like we did a good job. Still ten days away, on our wedding day, the yellow flowers mixed with lupine and serviceberry ought to be covering the hillsides of the Methow Valley!

Sometimes during the long cold months of winter it is good to have a warm reminder that spring will return. Even a person like me that loves winter, needs flowers now and again. This amaryllis was a New Years gift from a friend. Thanks Vicky.
