It was hot and wet in Savannah yesterday. High temperature was 88 according to our rental car. It poured down rain and no one except us seemed to pay it any mind.

All of these posts from the road are coming from my phone. This is tje first series of photos using Instagram.

It is not as warm as I had hoped but still alright for sandals. I hope that shoes will stay packed for the rest of the trip.

That is the Atlantic Ocean. I have seen a few new birds. Overall bird numbers except for cormorants are lower than I expected maybe due to the high winds.

Here is the first entry for my quest to find perfect crabcakes.

The Cape Hatteras Lookout. This is the one that was moved 2900 feet to save it from the ocean eroding the beach away.

We stopped by the BLM wild horse facility in the Mason Neck area by the Potomoc River this afternoon. The horses looked pretty tame to me. Folks can adopt them.

Well, here we go. Off into the wild blue yonder. Deb, the house/dog sitter is here with her dog to add to our small pack and we are packed and flying across the country. Watch for some short posts and lots more photos after we return next month.

Luna says ‘that’s a lot of stuff – are you ever coming back?’

Sam says, ‘really? you’re leaving us?’
